Ladies, Please Your House Seats!

 

In 2018, we came, and we conquered. Democrats flipped 41 seats and took back the House — electing a record 89 Democratic women, making this the most diverse and female-forward Congress ever! But even with this gain, women only represent 23% of the House.

As Ladies, Please Take Your House Seats, our group focused on 6 kick-ass, pro-choice, progressive, inspiring women running against Republicans in districts that Hillary won (or almost won). We were proud to hold fundraisers, write postcards, make phone calls, and raise  awareness for:

• Gina Ortiz Jones — TX-23

• Lucy McBath — GA-06

• Debbie Mucarsel-Powell — FL-26

• Mikie Sherrill — NJ-11

• Xochitl Torres Small — NM-02

• Lauren Underwood — IL-14

5 of these 6 women won, and Gina lost by only 926 votes — and she’s right back in it for 2020, with an excellent chance to finish the job!
