Won with 51% of the vote in 2018

 First-generation American

 Healthcare advocate

Debbie is the first Latina woman to represent Florida in the US House. She has been an unapologetic fighter for gun control and an unrelenting force for keeping attention on the unlawful separation of families at the border.

Immigrating from Ecuador as a young girl, Debbie has dedicated her career to helping non-profits increase access to quality healthcare for all and fight the effects of climate change, while raising three kids and now serving in office. Her father was killed by gun violence, making the gun epidemic a major focus of her work.
